Johannes Quack is the author of Disenchanting India: Organized Rationalism and Criticism of Religion in India, published by Oxford in 2012. Johannes is Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, where he is Principal Investigator on the research project “The Diversity of Nonreligion.” He is also Co-Director of the Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network, and has published articles and books in this area, in German and English, with articles of particular relevance to today’s interview being recently published in the Journal of Contemporary Religion, Method & Theory in the Study of Religion, and Social Analysis.
