Paul Fuller

Paul Fuller is a lecturer in Buddhist Studies at the University of Cardiff. He has taught Religious Studies at Universities in Southeast Asia, the University of Sydney in Australia and at Bath Spa University in the UK.  He has a PhD in Buddhist Studies from the University of Bristol.
His research interests include early Indian Buddhist philosophy, Engaged Buddhism and the prevalence of blasphemy in Buddhist culture. His book, The Notion of Ditthi in Theravada Buddhism: The Point of View (Routledge, 2004) explores the textual basis of discrimination and attachment in the Pali Canon.

Buddhists and the future of democratic space in Myanmar

Melissa Crouch’s recent edited volume Islam and the State in Myanmar: Muslim-Buddhist Relations and the Politics of Belonging is a very welcome addition to the dialogue on Buddhist-Muslim relations in Southeast Asia. In the podcast Melissa alludes to a particular phenomenon around South and Southeast Asia.
